How We Can Help?

We support other doctors in two primary ways: through patient referrals and professional education.

Referring a Patient

If you have a patient with suspected airway restriction, transverse deficiency, tongue-tie concerns, or sleep-disordered breathing, we provide structured evaluation and measurable treatment planning.

We use CBCT imaging and Eccovision rhinometer and pharyngometer mapping to document airway restriction and structural change. Our focus is skeletal foundation and long-term stability.

We communicate clearly and aim to complement your care.

Education & Training

Dr. Christensen lectures nationally on airway-focused orthodontics, pediatric growth guidance, adult skeletal expansion (MARPE/MAPDO), and outcome tracking.

He also hosts professional courses and mini-residencies designed to provide a clear clinical sequence for evaluating and treating airway-related orthodontic concerns.

The SPACE Framework™ organizes that sequence:

Our goal is to share what we measure and what we see clinically.

Why We Practice This Way

After being diagnosed with sleep apnea and later suffering a heart attack, Dr. Christensen began studying airway science more deeply. His own experience reshaped his clinical focus.

The turning point expanded further when his granddaughter presented with airway-related sleep concerns at  age three. Skeletal expansion improved her breathing and confirmed that structure influences function and forced him to re-think “waiting” until age 6 or 7 to start treatment.

From there, the emphasis shifted toward measurable outcomes. Since 2013, our office has tracked standardized before-and-after airway data in hundreds of cases.

We follow the data.

Clinical Approach

Our evaluation process is structured and published.

Initial consultation includes airway testing using Eccovision rhinometer and pharyngometer technology to identify areas of nasal and oropharyngeal constriction.

A records appointment includes:

  • X-Rays
  • Clinical photographs
  • 3D Intraoral scan

CBCT imaging is used to visualize craniofacial structure and airway anatomy.

Treatment decisions are based on documented structure, not assumption.

Professional Collaboration

We value collaboration and communication with referring doctors.

Christensen Airway Orthodontics is headquartered in Lewiston, Idaho, with satellite offices in Moscow and Grangeville, serving families throughout North Central Idaho and welcoming patients traveling from across the United States, Canada, and beyond.
